Security Service Consultants is acknowledged as South Africa's foremost practitioner of undercover agents as a means for gathering workplace intelligence vital to the running of your business.
Well positioned undercover agents amongst your workforce will deliver information in such areas as (but not limited to):
- Criminal activities;
- Labour matters;
- Substance abuse;
- Health and safety;
- Security;
- General company issues, such as loss of efficiency due to failures in the logistics process and so on.
Management can benefit the entire company by being aware of such issues before they seriously affect the enterprise's operations: for example, being aware of a staff grievance and attending to it before it becomes a labour dispute issue, can save the company serious production loss.
All reports are stored on our Meerkat online data facility for ease of reference. Meerkat allows you to follow trends and patterns within the workforce from the intelligence reports submitted enabling you to track and search for specific incidences. Access to this online service will be granted once the service has been running for a month. You will be able to gain access via a user name and password.
Individual reports would also be sent to you via email as a password protected attachment. For security reasons our company name and logo does not appear on the reports. These reports obviously need to be kept safe and away from those being reported on.
All our reports are in English and we try and stay away from "fancy" grammar and terms to ensure easy reading.

Early reports tend to be more general than specific whilst the investigator is familiarising himself with his new environment and gleaning background information. This pattern tends to change as we begin to direct the investigation to specific areas from the aforesaid background information received.
Early reports tend to give names incorrectly since staff members are occasionally inclined to give phonetic interpretations of names which are then unfamiliar to them.
The agents will not be able to testify as a witness in a court of law or in any internal hearings of the Company in order to protect both the operative and his/her family from possible intimidation and/or bodily harm.
We are currently able to operate from Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Nelspruit and Gauteng.
All agents are screened for criminal records and credit ratings before being placed in the contract. Should you wish to see the screening report it will be made available to you. During the course of the contract routine polygraph integrity tests will be conducted on the agents. These are normally conducted bi-annually. Some of the questions asked of the agent (but not limited to) would be:
Did you ever assist any person to steal any stock from this company?
Did you ever steal any stock from this company?
Did you ever receive any kind of payment or reward regarding any theft at this company?
Did you ever make any deals with anyone to steal any stock from the company?
Do you know of any crime at this company which has never been reported on?
Please note that the agent would become an employee of your company for the duration of the contract only. Alternatively and with the consent of your company the agent would be employed through the recommended labour broker. The agent should be paid in accordance to your company/ labour broker’s standards.
